Franck Muller unveils the Cintrée Curvex central tourbillon

Frank Müller, a self-proclaimed "Master of Complications", was one of the most creative watchmakers of his time. He's quit the business that bears his name -- now known for lavish style -- but the brand still has occasional interesting complications.

The Grand Central Tourbillon is one such watch, featuring a large flying tourbillon in the center of the dial. The Grand Central Tourbillon offers a variety of coloured dials with "exploded" numerals, powered by an automatic shape movement that mimics the shape of the brand's iconic Cintrée Curvex case.

Today, Franck Muller is mostly associated with flashy watches like the Vanguard Skeleton Sapphire. But long ago, Frank Muller himself presented his first tourbillon watch in 1984 - a Breguet-inspired watch with only "Frank" on the dial - which he would go on to create The first of many tourbillons.

The Grand Central Tourbillon evokes some history from Franck Muller with its unusual central tourbillon. This complexity is rare and only a few brands have completed the central tourbillon, most notably Omega and Beat Haldimann. Franck Muller made it even more interesting - the movement is automatic and has a power reserve of four days.
